Design A License Plate for the League!

The League of Women Voters of North Carolina is hosting a contest to generate a specialty license plate design to honor and promote the League. Funds generated from sales of the plate will support the work of the League of Women Voters in North Carolina.

Cost
There is no entry fee for the contest.

Eligibility
You need not be a League member to submit a design. One person may enter more than one submission.
Minors must obtain parental permission to participate. All submissions are due by March 31, 2021.

Please adhere to LWVUS Brand Standards in your design and spell out “League of Women Voters” somewhere on the plate. Your goal should be to create a visually appealing design. LWVUS Brand Standards can be found at: https://www.lwv.org/brand-standards

Per DMV requirements, please design your graphics to fit into the gray area on the template which can be found at: https://www.ncdot.gov/dmv/downloads/Documents/MVR-27PPAT.pdf

The preferred format for artwork submission is vector art in Adobe Illustrator CS6 or older (which the DMV uses to manufacture the plates), however, other formats will be accepted.   • By entering the contest and submitting your plate design, you are agreeing that your submission becomes the exclusive property of the League of Women Voters of North Carolina (LWVNC). You acknowledge that LWVNC may alter your submission and may photograph and/or duplicate your entry for various purposes, and you accept that your submission will not be returned to you. You are agreeing and guaranteeing (1) that your entry is 100% original or, if not original, that its source is either LWVNC or the public domain, (2) that your entry does not violate any third parties’ rights of privacy, publicity, or in any way defame anyone or any entity, and (3) that your entry does not infringe upon or violate any copyright. You are agreeing to indemnify LWVNC for any damages and expenses resulting from your failure to comply with this paragraph.
  • Recognition
    Contest design entries will be reviewed by board members of the League of Women Voters of North Carolina who will select the final winning design. The designer of the winning plate will be recognized in the promotional license plate campaign.
